How to use this documentation
This documentation is organised to help you find information quickly and at the right level of detail for your purpose.
- Getting started guides new users through complete (albeit simplified) workflows, such as running a first simulation and saving the results.
- Technical Reference provides details of the models and algorithms used in the SunSolve engine. It also provides references to the scientific literature.
- Concepts explains specific topics and how they impact the results of the simulation.
Navigation links in the sidebar and cross-references at the end of each page make it easy to move between related topics. Users who are new to the software can start with the Getting Started section, while experienced engineers and researchers may prefer to jump directly to the Technical reference or Concepts materials.
Using Search
Section titled “Using Search”A search bar is available at the top of this documentation site. You can use it to quickly locate any topic, input parameter, or keyword across the full SunSolve Yield help system.
- Type a few words or symbols (e.g. “Lc, norm”, “array loss”, “bifacial”) to instantly filter results.
- Search results include titles, short descriptions, and links to relevant tutorials, references, or explanation pages.
- Use quotes (“…”) to match exact phrases, or add multiple keywords to narrow results.
This is the fastest way to find specific information — especially when troubleshooting, reviewing formulas, or checking parameter definitions.
