Scope of this manual

This manual provides a comprehensive guide to using SunSolve Yield, from conceptual understanding through to advanced configuration and analysis. It explains how the software models photovoltaic (PV) systems using a physics-based approach that integrates optical, thermal, and electrical simulations to predict energy yield.

The documentation is organised to support users with different goals and experience levels. Early sections introduce the software, interface, and key workflows, while later sections describe the underlying models and algorithms in detail. Each major topic — insolation, optics, thermal, and electronics — is covered separately to reflect the modular structure of SunSolve Yield’s simulation engine.

This documentation corresponds to SunSolve Yield v7 and later, and will continue to evolve as new features and models are released.
