Analysis results

The Analysis tab in the Outputs view presents the bifacial input factors extracted for the selected view-factor program, together with any evaluation metrics that were enabled on the Analysis tab in the Inputs view. All factors are reported as energy-weighted averages over the simulation period, so they can be entered directly into PVsyst or PlantPredict. For how these values are computed, see analysis methodology.

The first panel reports the program factors. Each value is a percentage, shown to one decimal place. The factors displayed depend on the program selected in the Analysis tab.

The rear mismatch factor can be negative, this indicates that adding rear irradiance has reduced the overall mismatch loss rather than increased it. It can also be negative at times where the overall power is very low and stochastic noise dominates the result.

A second panel reports the program-independent evaluation metrics, when they were enabled.

Coefficients for spectral models

Section link: Coefficients for spectral models

When spectral correction is enabled, an additional panel lists the fitted coefficients for two empirical spectral models. These coefficients can be used to reproduce the spectral correction in other tools.

ColumnDescription

Coefficients, The coefficient label ci.

Sandia model, Fitted coefficient for the Sandia spectral model (King 2004).First Solar model, Fitted coefficient for the First Solar spectral model (Lee & Panchula 2016).

The output tab provides several export actions.

Download time series — Exports the hourly values that underlie the energy-weighted averages, for inspection or independent analysis.

Generate bifacial factors report — Produces a PDF report of the extracted factors. This action is available for the PVsyst program.

The analysis outputs can also be downloaded on the Time series data tab.
